That recollection became especially moving years later when Jason and Tyler, who both followed their dad into the entertainment industry as actors<\/strong>, discussed their father’s work in a recent Pause Rewind<\/u><\/i> interview<\/u><\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Asked which of their father’s roles stood out most, Jason admitted he had plenty to choose from. “Oh my gosh. I have a bunch. I really have a bunch,” he said. Still, Jason ultimately singled out “Sling Blade”<\/i> and “Skin Deep,”<\/i> saying, “Those two performances are two of my favourites.”<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Tyler also had a special attachment to “Skin Deep,”<\/i> partly because he had to wait until he was old enough to watch it. When John arrived at the hospital in September 2003 sweating heavily, vomiting, and experiencing chest pain, doctors initially believed he was having a heart attack.<\/i> His widow, Amy, said the assumption reflected how much more commonly physicians encounter cardiac symptoms that appear to point toward a heart attack.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

After their father’s death, all four of his children began undergoing annual scans to monitor their aortic health. Then came a striking example of why that screening could matter: Just four years after John’s death, his older brother Tom underwent lifesaving surgery after imaging revealed a previously unknown aneurysm. Part of his aorta was repaired and replaced.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Tyler said the procedure gave his uncle “a full new lease on life.”<\/strong> That experience only strengthened the family’s determination to keep speaking. “We’re just ringing the alarm,”<\/strong> Tyler stated. “If we can catch it ahead of time, we can prevent it.”<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The health message is serious, but it is hardly the only way John’s sons continue to keep their father present. Their conversation about his performances brought fans flooding into the comment section with another observation: just how strongly both brothers remind people of John, albeit in different ways.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The resemblance became almost as much of a talking point as the interview itself. One person marveled, “It’s crazy how i [sic] see him in both of his sons….” <\/i>Another commented, “Jason looks so much like John it’s scary..” <\/i>Someone else wrote, “His son in the gray look so much like him when he was younger and the one in the black look so much like him when he was older [sic].”<\/i><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

A fellow spectator added, “Wow [sic] they really resemble him!! Loved him in 8 Simple Rules and Buffy!! \ud83e\udef6\ud83c\udffe,” <\/i>while another echoed, “They both look so much like him.” <\/i>For a different viewer, two words were enough: “the resemblance!”<\/i><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

One person saw something slightly different in each brother, writing, “It’s crazy how much they look like him but in different ways.”<\/i> And someone else summed up the reaction with an emotional tribute: “Oh my gosh!!! They look like him..talk [sic] like him..He put his genes all over them. John Ritter was one of the best. RIP.”<\/i><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
