Daniel tried to hide his fear.<\/p>\n

“She said you loved me before I was born. But someone took you away.”<\/p>\n
Daniel felt a terrible weight settle in his chest.<\/p>\n
He opened the box, hoping to find another letter.<\/p>\n
Inside was a tiny silver bracelet, a folded photograph, and a hospital identification card.<\/p>\n
The card carried Lily’s birth date.<\/p>\n
The photograph showed Emily holding a newborn baby beside Daniel’s brother, Michael.<\/p>\n
On the back, Emily had written:<\/p>\n
“The night everything changed.”<\/strong><\/p>\n Daniel remembered the night Michael died.
