A New TV Role Pushed Their Wedding Back<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n

At the 2026 Grammy Awards on February 1, McEntire said she was waiting for news about\u00a0the future\u00a0<\/strong>of NBC’s “Happy’s Place,” which also stars Linn.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“We’re still waiting on a third season pickup from Happy’s Place,” she\u00a0told E! News<\/a>\u00a0during “Live From E!: Grammys.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The\u00a0NBC comedy<\/a>, which debuted in 2024, centers on Bobbie, played by McEntire, after she takes over her late father’s restaurant and discovers she must share the business with a half-sister she never knew about. Linn appears as Emmett, while Belissa Escobedo plays Isabella.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Linn also had\u00a0another commitment\u00a0<\/strong>on his calendar. “And Rex got picked up on Stick with Owen Wilson, so that pushed the wedding back,” McEntire said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Deadline<\/a>\u00a0reported in May that Linn had joined the recurring cast for the show’s second season. The golf comedy stars Owen Wilson as former professional golfer Pryce Cahill, with Peter Dager returning as young player Santi.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The series was renewed for Season 2 in July, with several returning cast members and new additions. For McEntire and Linn, however, the significance was simpler: another production schedule had to be worked around.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

McEntire returned to the subject on August 10 at NBC’s Backlot Pass event, where Escobedo pointed to the couple’s packed schedules. She described McEntire and Linn as “two of the busiest people,” adding, “Always on a new job. Making new music.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

That workload, McEntire said, is exactly why the wedding has yet to move forward.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“We’re just waiting until we have an open spot to have the wedding,” she\u00a0told the same outlet<\/a>. “Get it planned. Print those invitations.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

McEntire did not offer a tentative date, but her latest update made the situation clear: the wedding can move ahead once their schedules finally leave enough room for it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
